Madly Modern Quilts Published!

My Madly Modern Quilts book is published!!

Madly Modern QuiltsI’ve been working on a book about modern quilts for about two years and now I can see the results of my labor.

Talk about doing a happy dance–champagne and french fries and chocolate for everyone!!  OK–that’s a weird combination, but those are some of my favorite foods.  But I couldn’t eat anyway–I’m too darned happy to eat!!

You can purchase the book now through my eStore.

If you’d like to encourage your local quilt shop to carry my book, please have them contact me.

There are 11 quilt projects and lots of ideas on how to customize to make unique quilts from these patterns.   The patterns are suitable for any level quilter.  They are also great for traditional quilters who want to experiment with guidance!  I’ll be posting more resources and instructions for these projects HERE  so check back often after you purchase the book.

The book has tutorials on useful modern quilt techniques including:

  • How to piece a long ‘slow curve’ block
  • How to cut out and piece a quarter circle curve without templates or piecing
  • How to improvisationally piece blocks — including fractured blocks
  • How to choose modern fabrics for a project

And, I teach these projects in my workshops–contact me if your guild would like to invite me to teach for you.

Click HERE for my workshop descriptions and HERE for my teaching calendar.
